Dynamic Range Charts are test charts designed to evaluate tonal response, noise, basic resolution and colour in cameras and digital sensors. Combined with the Stepchart module, a high range of density levels can be tested, making it possible to assess sensor behaviour under high-contrast scene conditions.
The charts are available on several substrates — semigloss, photographic paper and Color LVT film — and are supported by the Stepchart, Multicharts and Multitest modules; when several manual exposures are available, they can also be used with the Dynamic Range postprocessor.
