Coating thickness gauges

YT6300 Coating Thickness Gauge

Standard coating thickness gauge with an integrated dual-use probe (Fe/NFe) — automatic substrate recognition, 0–3,000 µm range, USB-C and Bluetooth 5.0.

  • Integrated dual-use probe — measures non-magnetic coatings on steel (Fe) and insulating coatings on non-ferrous metals (NFe)
  • 0–3,000 µm measuring range with automatic substrate-type recognition
  • Four measurement modes — basic, quality control, continuous, statistical
  • Compliant with ISO 2178, ISO 2360, ASTM B499 and other magnetic/eddy-current test standards

The YT6300 is a standard coating thickness gauge from 3nh with an integrated dual-use probe, built for fast, accurate coating-thickness measurement on metal substrates. It fully conforms to ISO 2178, ISO 2360, GB/T 4956, GB/T 4957 and ASTM B499, combining the magnetic-induction principle (on ferrous substrates) with the eddy-current principle (on non-ferrous substrates). The Fe-based probe measures non-magnetic coatings — paint, powder coating, porcelain, chrome, copper or zinc — on magnetic substrates such as steel, while the NFe-based probe measures insulating coatings on non-magnetic substrates such as aluminium, brass or stainless steel.

The YT6300 automatically identifies the substrate type and performs non-destructive testing without damaging the sample. An independently developed high-sensitivity probe delivers a fast, accurate response, and a multi-point positioning system allows precise measurement on convex and concave surfaces down to a 5 mm radius.
